Another HUGE Congratulations to Grangemouth ASC 's Ryan Retson who adds the Scottish Junior Champion titles for the 200m freestyle and 200IM at the Scottish Nationals. Well done Ryan from everyone at GASC .

A HUGE well done to oor Ryan Retson who competed at the British Championships at the weekend. Ryan is British Champion in 2 events the 100 freestyle and the 400 freestyle and got Silver in 2 events. Amazing performances. Here is a picture of Ryan getting his Gold.

Reg Adams MBE. Reg Adams was a coach at Grangemouth ASC for 50 years who retired in 2009 at the ripe old age of 80!
British Waterways has paid tribute to Reg with a statue along the canal bank at Camelon between Loch 16 and the Beefeater. Further info on the statue is available here, and here.

  GASC Best Boys & Girls at Falkirk Otters 40th Anniversary Meet

Well done to our Best Boys and Girls from the Falkirk Otters 40th Anniversary Meet!
Congratulations to
Regan Hill, Elliot Millar, Ellie Palmer, Sophie Hunter and Cara Mullan.

  Grangemouth Amateur Swimming Club was well represented at the Falkirk Council Scroll Award on Wednesday 19th March 2014.

Alyshia McCracken was awarded for her success in Open Water, being the National Champion.

Ryan Retson was awarded for his success at the Welsh Nationals, gaining 11 out of 12 Golds and for being ranked 2nd in Britain for the 200m Freestyle.
Julie Nimmo was awarded for her sport of Triathlon where her swimming training is done with with GASC and was awarded the Runner Up in the Falkirk Council Youth Sports Person of the Year.

Walter Scott collected an award on behalf of the club for the Junior League Team winning the Forth Valley Junior League Title for the 9th year in a row as well as gaining an individual award for his services as Head Coach to GASC.
Congratulations to everyone and well done GASC!  The picture shows Alyshia, Julie, Ryan and Walter.

  Julie Nimmo with Chris HoyJulie Nimmo has been fortunate to have achieved sponsorship from SSE Next Generation Athlete for her sport of Triathlon and was invited to attend a gala dinner hosted by non other that Sir Chris Hoy! 
There were also speeches by Leon Taylor the diver and Judge in Splash and Rebecca Adlington's mum!!   Julie has been a member of Grangemouth Amateur Swimming Club for 11 years!

CJAGS 2014 - GASC Best Girlsongratulations to Kate McDonald on winning Best Girl in the 12 year old age group, and to Sophie Hunter on winning Best Girl in the 11 year old age group, at the annual JAGS Gala on Sunday 2nd February.

Meet our new Club Captains for 2014, Hayley Bryce and Andrew Buchan.
Congratulations to both of them.

  Amy Clelland, championship cakeOur Club Championship Presentation night on Friday 24th January 2014 was a massive success, the busiest we have ever seen it!  Some fantastic achievements throughout the year in the water but we have another massive talent outside the water in Amy Clelland (14). 
Amy made this fantastic cake masterpiece of Grangemouth swimming pool complete with coloured lane ropes, divers feet, diving blocks, kit bags, swimmers doing kick only with floats, and head coach Walter Scott with ipad andwhite board with the club slogan 'Be all U can Be' on it - detail was amazing! 
Well done Amy and well done to your proud dad Stephen who stood for hours cutting it up.  Delicious!!!  CCTV camera's are being monitored to see who stole 'Walters Heid' and left his body at poolside - ha ha!!

  FIRST Graded meet 2013 team award to GASCA huge WELL DONE  to our swimmers at the F.I.R.S.T. Graded meet who won BEST TEAM!!  This is the second Best Club trophy in 2 months following the Boness mini meet.  Fantastic result.  Club is just going from strength the strength!!

Grangemouth ASC Open Water team competed in the West District at Loch Ard Aberfoyle on Saturday 7th September 2013. We attracted some very special spectators in Kerri-Ann Payne (Open Water Olympian) and David Carey (Swimming Olympian) on either side of our swimmers.

  Best girls JAGS 2013 GASC 'Best Girls' at our JAGS Gala 2013

Grangemouth Amateur Swimming Club's 'Best Girls' at our JAGS Gala on Sunday 3rd February were Niamh Culliton in the Age 12 category and Kate McDonald in the Age 11 category. 

The Girls are pictured with their Best Girl trophies.  Well done girls!

Olympic Torch Visits Grangemouth ASC!

On the10th of March 2012 Grangemouth Swimmers (and Coaches) were able to see and have the opportunity to hold the Olympic Torch at an event at the leisure complex. Below is a small selection from the many photos taken on the day.

Congratulations to Hayley Bryce on winning Bronze in the Scottish Schools Championships, Girls 12 and under 50m freestyle.

This was a fantastic achievement in a very competitive meet!

Congratulations To New West District Champions!

Grangemouth Amateur Swimming Club now have 2 more West District Champions in Julie Nimmo and Alyshia McCracken who both got Gold at the West District Championships in Dumfries on Sunday 16th May 2010.    
Julie Nimmo (12) is West District Champion in 200m Butterfly in a time of 2:38:63.

Alyshia McCracken (13) is West District Champion in 800m Freestyle in a time of 9:47:70

Relay Double Silver At Scottish National Age Group Championships

The Grangemouth 11 - 13 year old girls relay team had two fantastic swims at the Scottish Nationals, April 8th - 11th 2010.

The team - Alyshia McCracken, Hannah Busby, Julie Hunter and Julie Nimmo -  was in sparkling form, winning silver in both the 400 Medley Relay, and the 400 Free Relay. Congratulations to them all!

Julie Hunter - Sets New Scottish 50m Fly Long Course Record !!!!

Jason McDonald - Best Boy,  Gold and Silver Awards from Central Gala, 8th Nov 2009.

A fantastic day for Jason at the Central Meet with three individual Gold (50m back, 50m breast and 50m free), one individual Silver (50m fly), Best Boy in age group, joint Best Boy overall, plus two relay medals. Medals and awards photo.

Gold at West Districts - 6th Sept 2009

Congratulations to the girls relay team, - Alyshia McCracken, Julie Nimmo, Hannah Busby and Julie Hunter.
Not only did they win GOLD in both the Girls 10-12 4x50 Metre Freestyle Relay (2:01.05) AND the 10-12 4x50 Metre Medley Relay (2:17.66), they also set new West District Records for both events!
